Profile:

Having left a previous career as a broadcaster in Australia, George Butler was called to the bar in 2003.

 

George has been a member of Chambers since completing his pupillage in June 2005.

 

His practice encompasses Care proceedings, contact applications, injunctions and all other Children Act 1989 matters. He also has experience with civil and criminal cases including matters Harassment Act.

 

In 2006 George spent nine months working for the Seniors Advice and Information Law Service (SAILS) in Brisbane, Australia advising clients in relation to Elder Law. This is a growing area of legal practice that covers issues of mental capacity, financial abuse, equity matters and enduring powers of attourney in relation to older people.

 

George has already worked in this area with TLATA cases and matters relating to the capacity of older clients.

 

He is a father with two young children.
