Ian was called to the Bar in 1997.

Prior to and during his legal studies Ian was a qualified registered general nurse working in many of London's teaching hospitals.

Ian has been in Chambers since April 1998 and has developed a practice in all areas of children law.

Ian acts for local authorities, parents and children in all areas of public law care proceedings and has acted in very serious cases involving all areas of non accidental injury, mental health, drug related issues, disclosure areas, sexual abuse, parents and children's rights under the Human Rights Act 1998.

Ian also acts in international abduction cases, adoption and all areas of private law.

Ian advises on local authority regulation.

Ian is able to accept direct access instructions.
