Ian was called to the Bar in 1997. Prior to this he was nurse working in many varied and different areas of general practise in hospitals in the London area.

Prior to taking up his place at Bar School, Ian obtained a Masters Degree in Medical Law and Medical Ethics from Kings College London.

Ian specialises in all family cases, especially Children Act 1989 matters. Ian has experience in all types of cases from basic private family and children law matters to lengthy public law cases involving medical, factual and legal complexity.

Ian also has expertise in Public Interest Immunity and has also has experience in representing interested parties at Inquests.
