A personable and persuasive advocate, with excellent client care skills. Tom Tyler came to the bar after a successful career in business. Tom specialises in ancilliary relief and for reasons best known to himself he particularly enjoys cases with a pensions element. In conjunction with specialist actuaries Tom has presented seminars on pensions for solicitors on behalf of the chambers ancilliary relief group. Tom also acts for local authorities, parents and children in both public and private law matters.
Tom is divorced and based in West London where he lives with his teenaged daughters. When he isn't at work, Tom enjoys Italian motorcycles, opera and country walks.
Tom has a keen interest in pensions in ancillary relief cases and is actively involved in the chambers seminar programme.
Tom has published articles in 'Family Law Week' including Defending Committal Applications in the County Court under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1986 and in the 'Ancillary Actuary' including Divorce Law: A Frankenstein's Monster
