There is a searchable database containing over 30,000 abstracts of books, technical reports, fact sheets, journal articles, and other documents related to child abuse and neglect, child welfare, and adoption, a database of relevant organisations, a bank of statistics and a good links page
ChildlineWell-known UK charity with helpline and factsheets for young people.
IPT: Institute for Psychological TherapiesUS psychologists` site, largely forensic and focussing on issues in cases of child abuse and sexual harassment. Tends to emphasise the need for a scientific background to forensic psychology with articles in the journal which are distinctly sceptical in tone particularly with regard to recovered memory.
NSPCC Online Child Protection ResourceThis website contains information & news about aspects of child protection & child abuse, including a very useful series of leaflets (downloadable) on injuries to children such as bruising & fractures. There is also an email updater service on registration.
Pandora's BoxUS web page produced by Dr Nancy Faulkner who describes herself as a Child Advocate and Health Care Consultant. Some interesting and insightful articles (eg why do women stay with violent partners) and a wide range of materials dealing with abuse prevention, counselling, perceptions, links to other information sites. Eclectic but interesting for background and insight. Not sure about the poetry but perhaps that is just British reserve!
