About

George joined chambers as a Third Six Pupil in November 2024, and accepted tenancy in February 2025.

George successfully completed pupillage at a leading set in Liverpool, where he gained experience in financial remedies, private law children, and public law children. George graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Law, having spent a year abroad studying at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He completed the BPC at the University of Law in London and graduated with a Very Competent grade.

He welcomes instructions in all Children Act matters, both public and private law, Domestic Abuse cases and Financial Remedies.

Practice Overview

Private Children Law

George represents parents, intervenors, and Rule 16.4 guardians in private law proceedings. His caseload often includes issues such as domestic abuse, alienating behaviours, substance misuse, and mental health concerns. The emotionally charged nature of his caseload means that George is often praised for his reassuring manner with clients.

He is frequently instructed in relocation applications, and has appeared in the High Court in relation to an application for temporary leave to remove.

Public Children Law

George is regularly instructed by parents, local authorities, and guardians in public law proceedings. He has experience in complex cases, including those involving non-accidental injuries, threshold findings, and capacity issues.

Financial Remedies

George manages a variety of financial remedy instructions, and regularly represents client’s from FDA through to Final Hearing. George has been instructed on cases involving international elements, non-disclosed assets and schedule 1 applications.

Notably, George appeared for the successful respondent in the reported case of FI v DO [2024] EWFC 384 (B), a landmark case that examined the treatment of family pets in the division of matrimonial chattels and prompted widespread debate in the press amongst policy makers.
