Pupillage

These Chambers have a deserved reputation as one of the friendliest sets in which to do pupillage.  Chambers are keen to attract candidates from all backgrounds.  Our pupils are the future, and great importance is attached to pupillage training.  Members aim to be approachable and supportive of pupils, allowing them to develop as individual practitioners.

Our pupil supervisors are dedicated to providing quality tuition. Their aim is to nurture professional relationships to assist you with your future career at the Bar.  Past pupils have enjoyed a busy second six month, working 3 days out of 5. Chambers usually take on two funded pupils annually, through the OLPAS application system to start in October.

In association with some of our local authority clients, the pupils are sent on a week’s attachment to the authority towards the end of their second-six to assist the authority in any way they can.  Further details are available on request. We operate an equal opportunities recruitment policy. Our recruitment methods prevent any discrimination of the grounds of race, gender, religion and sexual orientation or age.

Mini- Pupillage

For individuals interested in acquiring further experience of the Bar and Chambers in particular. 4 Brick Court offers mini-pupillages of three or five days duration throughout the year. A mini-pupil typically spends time with several different members of Chambers, attending court, conferences, as well as looking at papers. Mini-pupillages are not assessed.

Completion of a mini-pupillage is not a pre-requisite to an application for pupillage. Candidates are encouraged to apply for a mini-pupillage as far in advance.

You may find the Family Law Bibliograpy in our articles' section particularly helpful. It was originally written for a pupil and has been added to, amended and kept up-to-date by our pupils ever since.
